Genki Tochimoto Founder & Travel Planner
Genki Tochimoto is the founder of Wellnethy, a Japan-based company dedicated to creating meaningful connections between international travelers and the deeper cultural traditions of Japan.
Before establishing Wellnethy in 2023, Genki built a diverse professional career across finance, recruitment, and infrastructure management. He began at JALUX, a trading company affiliated with the Japan Airlines Group, where he worked in finance. He later joined Recruit Agent Co., Ltd., one of Japan’s leading recruitment firms, serving as a career consultant supporting professionals and organizations.
He subsequently spent over 14 years at Japan Motor Terminal Co., Ltd., a government-affiliated infrastructure company operating major truck terminals in Tokyo. During this time, he was involved in facility operations, corporate coordination, and business management within Japan’s logistics infrastructure sector.
Through long-standing friendships with people overseas, Genki became increasingly aware of the deep curiosity and respect many international visitors have for Japan’s culture, craftsmanship, and way of life. At the same time, he felt that many of Japan’s cultural strengths and regional traditions were still not fully shared with the world.
He founded Wellnethy with the belief that travel can be more than sightseeing — it can be a way to create meaningful human connections and to introduce the depth of Japanese culture in an authentic and respectful way.
Born in Takayama, Gifu, a historic town known for its craftsmanship and cultural heritage, Genki brings a deeply personal perspective to his work in connecting Japan with the wider world.
